The village of Coniston is centrally located for exploring
the Lake District, with its wealth of historic houses, visitor
atractions and outstanding natural beauty.
Coniston is famous for its association with John Ruskin,
the Steam Gondola and more recently Donald Campbell, with
his attempt at the World Water Speed Record.
There are many attractions in and around the village.
The
Cumbrian Way passes through the Village and the more energetic
could climb the Old Man of Coniston with its splendid
view overlooking as far as the Isle of Man.
